New Yorkers for Children

Last Wednesday night in the ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the Time Warner towers on Columbus Circle, the Friends of New Yorkers for Children held their annual Fool's Fete. Susan Burden , one of the founders of the organization with Nicholas Scoppetta congratulated the committee who organized this year's party and singled out Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos whom she said was the One everyone turned to to get things organized, get things done, and get everyone on track. A Fool's Fete's great success can be attributed to the early and ongoing work of Dayssi and her committee members.

More than 450 attended this glittering dinner dance (spell that: party), and they raised just over $500,000 for the cause. It's also a fun party and you can feel it as soon as you step off the elevator. People know they're going to have a good time, almost as if it's the perfect moment for a party such as this.
