ARTrageous Gala Dinner and Art Auction

The fashionable art crowd turned out in full force for the 7th Annual ARTrageous gala at Cipriani Wall Street on May 22, raising an astounding 1.2 million dollars for the Edwin Gould Services for Children and Families . Over 700 guests were treated to dinner and a live auction before taking to the dance floor to close out the evening. The festivities, which raise money for New York City foster care, honored Stephen Hancock, Edward Bulgin , and Allison Weiss Brady . Brady's outstanding achievement award for her dedication to Edwin Gould Services was presented to her by none other than fellow Floridian, Governor Charlie Crist .

Guests including Diane N. Weiss , George A. Weiss and his wife , Linda Bravo Weiss, Linda Argila, Janna Bullock, Lady Liliana Cavendish, Olivia Chantecaille, Caroline Waxler, Jon James, Jill and Bobby Zarin, and Alison Minton were treated to a truly special guest in the form of legendary singer Sting , who joined the crowd via satellite in honoring artist Hancock, whose artwork he is a noted collector of.

Jeff Koons donated artwork at the event while Russell Simmons' Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation donated a Francisco Clemente piece.

By the end of this year the Edwin Gould Services for Children and Families, which is the #1 Foster Care Agency in New York City, expects to have served an estimated 600 foster/congregate care families. The annual dinner is the culmination of its popular charity event filled with carnival games, prizes, food and entertainment.
